The forks from Hollandbikeshop arrived first so time to turn them into what I need.
First up is to drill the hole to mount the rod brake linkage to.
Small drill to mark where it should go after carefully measuring against the old forks.
Drilling the hole with a 5.5mm drill.
Threading the hole with an M6 cutter
Finished thread just visible through the hole
Cutting the steerer tube down to the correct length
Milling the slot that keeps the headlamp and cable bracket pointing the same direction as the handle bars. Probably could have done this with a drill and just put a hole in the right place. With a mill available it was easy to do it this way.
Slots in old and new forks, The slot in the new fork was machined to be a bit longer to exactly match the old fork but I didn't take a photo of it finished.
Assembling the headset bearings on the new forks
Finally, new forks fitted onto the bike.
Still quite a few bits to put back yet though.
